RE: NEXUS 9
It has the great dual-core 64-bit tagra k1 chip (better than the shield tablets 32-bit variant) But the form factor of the N9 is 4:3.. i dislike that, i prefer 16:9 like the shield tablet. Will i be getting it? no. I will wait for the next version with a 16:9 form factor and more RAM, about 4gb plus.. so that the 64-bit processor can be put to use with 4gb RAM and over.

RE: NEXUS 9
I wish the Nexus 6 had the 64-bit ARM, would have been my next phone for sure
As it is, I might get the Nexus 9 to develop the 64-bit ARM JIT on, or I'll wait a bit for a phone with the processor... |

Get that That's not going to come out until probably 2nd quarter next year. By then, a Shield type device with 64bit and the Maxwell iteration of the Tegra SOC could be out. You could get some of the lower end 64bit SOC's that came out for a phone from Qualcomm right now, but they are more low spec devices. http://www.anandtech.com/show/8434/htc-a...roid-phone The Adreno 420 is already available now on the Note 4, but it still performs well below the Tegra K1 GPU. And the drivers from Qualcomm is still far below par which holds the hardware back much. The Nexus is a great device if you only want to use it as a tablet mostly. There is not going to be all the Nvidia extras that make the Shield Tablet unique. Console mode, Grid local/remote, Dwifi Shield Controller w/rumble, and shadowplay. The Nexus 9 also doesn't have a MicroSD card which is pretty much a non-starter for most if you want to moderately game on the device. |

RE: NEXUS 9
Well it look like better to wait for some other tablet to come out with same spec with micro sd card slot & 16:9.

Compare the Nexus 9 to the Nvidia Shield tablet if you want to see a device that does provide OpenGL... Man, "Google" killed nexus 9 with their own hands. Removing all features good for emulation . |
