If you have frameskipping on, who knows what you're benchmarking. Technically I can get 7000 FPS on a phone from 2008.

I think it would be better if we had a way to benchmark actual games, but there isn't such a thing yet on Android for emulators. The application would have to be rather light so it doesn't interfere with the performance of the game. I guess what you could do is load a game onto a scene that you can stand still at and use that as a benchmark, but rarely are games at a standstill and differing scenes changes the performance impact.
