PPSSPP 1.1.1 on macbook dualshock buttons issue
Hello guys,
I've just installed the PPSSPP 1.1.1 on my macbook air. Already have it running on my IPAD & on windows laptop working great with my dualshock 4 gamepad. But in macbook there is an issue. It's like a false recognition of the buttons. Ex: cross is "pad down", circle is "pad up", etc... The dualshock works on mac with other games so it's just an issue with the emulator. Are you aware of it? Thanks! |

RE: PPSSPP 1.1.1 on macbook dualshock buttons issue
Are there any problems setting the buttons or you didn't even tried?
If the latter, note you can(and should) configure your controller in settings->controls->control mapping, where "+" add's new input, "X" removes existing one and pressing name of the existing input between those will allow to replace it. If the screen looks confusing, just "Clear all" and map everything you want from 0. http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=6594 - Custom PPSSPP Shaders! http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=3590&pid=117172#pid117172 - simple CE scripts to help creating CWCheats, https://github.com/LunaMoo/PPSSPP_workarounds - CWCheat workarounds. |

RE: PPSSPP 1.1.1 on macbook dualshock buttons issue
That I assume happens when you map DS X into psp X? Does the game expecting you to press psp X react on your gamepad X or d-pad down?
In the latter that might be some bug and you'll have to wait for someone who has mac and can improve whatever code is broken there, however if pressing ds X does work as psp X even through it shows as pad1.Down, then that's just label you can ignore, likely set for more popular gamepad. http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=6594 - Custom PPSSPP Shaders! http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=3590&pid=117172#pid117172 - simple CE scripts to help creating CWCheats, https://github.com/LunaMoo/PPSSPP_workarounds - CWCheat workarounds. |

Ey @LunaMoo the issue is that actually ppsspp understands "PAD DOWN" when you push "X" button so you can't play at all... :-(. It is not only a label issue.... Same problem with square, circle, etc.... Is there someone in this forum we can tag to solve it? I really want to play... |

RE: PPSSPP 1.1.1 on macbook dualshock buttons issue
There's no such thing as "tag to solve", all issues are important, if you have git I would recommend opening a new issue there as those are easily tracked and filtered doesn't matter how old.
If you do that, a hint - arm yourself in patience, this is an open source project with few people who wants to do some work outside fixing their own problems and endless mass of people that request stuff to be implemented/fixed. For a immediate solution you could also google for "Open Emu" which seems popular among MacOSX users. AFAIK it uses ppsspp core, so compatibility and speed while not 100% same, should at least be similar, but probably different code for input which might help you out. http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=6594 - Custom PPSSPP Shaders! http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=3590&pid=117172#pid117172 - simple CE scripts to help creating CWCheats, https://github.com/LunaMoo/PPSSPP_workarounds - CWCheat workarounds. |

Thanks, I will try to take a look at this ones even if I'm used to ppsspp and I kind of like it.

RE: PPSSPP 1.1.1 on macbook dualshock buttons issue
Ok,
I tried "Open Emu". The presentation is Great, nicer than PPSSPP. But it is not well optimised. Some games don't even work at all. Anyway, curious thing: Dualshock 4 controller works fine. I think I'm going to need to be patient and wait someone to repair this... :-( |

RE: PPSSPP 1.1.1 on macbook dualshock buttons issue
Different gamepads will send buttons sometimes in a weird order. On Linux and Mac, this can especially be true.
I believe the issue here is this one: https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/issue...-165348642 A different gamepad driver may even change this. -[Unknown] |

RE: PPSSPP 1.1.1 on macbook dualshock buttons issue
I found a workaround.
If someone is interested in... You just have to install "crossOver" soft on your mac so you can run windows software, and ppsspp works perfect with dualshock 4. I'm using Win XP bottle, so the ppsspp used is the 32bits version. Cheers |
