new user help ppsspp not working

Hi

I have downloaded the programme for my windows 8 tablet I can open the programme ok but as soon as I try to load or start a game I get a ppsspp has stopped working message and the programme closes.

I am using the 1.11 windows version.

I'm not used to using this type of programme so am unsure of what settings might need changing or downloads needed etc.

Rather embarissing but appears some games are working, it appears that the game I was initially trying doesn't work for some reason.
