Full screen stretching
I just installed the Windows version on my arcade cabinet with a CRT monitor and switched to the nearest custom resolution 512 x 288. No matter which option I use in PPSSPP, the native PSP resolution of 480 x 272 is always stretched to cover 512 x 288. Can't this behavior just be switched off to display native 480 x 272 on my 512 x 288 resolution? Switchig off the fit to screen option does not help at all (it does not do anything). Using DX9 renderer here...

I wonder why the "stretch to display" option does not do anything, no matter if it's turned on or off. Picture is always stretched to display...

RE: Full screen stretching
If I understand correctly, you need to change "Rendering resolution" to "1x PSP" Smile
This way PPSSPP will always display a 480x272 picture, no matter which display resolution you are using Smile

The "Stretch to display" option does make a difference if it's enabled.
Here is an example :
480x272 is not exactly 16:9, it should be 480x270. Therefore, if your screen use 1920x1080, you might want to use "4x PSP" so PPSSPP will display 1920x1088, which is not 1920x1080.
When you enable "Stretch to display", PPSSPP will resize your 1920x1088 picture to 1920x1080.
If you disable "Stretch to display", PPSSPP will keep the aspect ratio of the PSP (multiples of 480x272). In our example, PPSSPP will crop the picture to 1920x1080, which mean we will lose 4 pixels at the top and 4 pixels at the bottom of the picture.

RE: Full screen stretching
Thanx for the good explanation!

But I'm using 1xPSP as rendering resolution and it's still stretched to 512x288. If it would render 1xPSP there should be black bars around the picture when using 512x288, shouldn't it? Somehow it does not work.

RE: Full screen stretching
Oh, now I think I understand what you want !
You want to display PPSSPP at "1x PSP", centered on your screen, while the rest of the screen remains black ?
But the "problem" is that PPSSPP always stretch the display to the size of its window.
When "Stretch to display" is disabled, PPSSPP keeps the aspect ratio of the PSP. If it's different from the aspect ratio of your screen, you will see some black bars.
These black bars can be horizontal or vertical, depending if it's the height which is too big or if it's the width.

To conclude, I don't think it's possible to do what you want, I'm sorry Undecided

But why not simply playing with a screen size of "1x PSP" ? How you can do this : "Game Settings" menu >> "Window Size" >> "1x".
Afterwards, apply a completely black wallpaper on your Desktop Smile
And I know it's possible to remove the "border" of a window. I haven't tested myself, but I found this tool on Google : http://westechsolutions.net/sites/Window...essGaming/
Maybe you can find a workaround by testing these things Wink

RE: Full screen stretching
But why that complicated when it could be an option in the settings? It couldn't be that difficult to add this!?

RE: Full screen stretching
I don't know... It's just that apparently nobody has been interested in implementing this option yet.

RE: Full screen stretching
I noticed that the option "stretch to display" does only work in windowed mode. In full screen it does not show the black bars.

Is there a place I could officially request that feature?

RE: Full screen stretching
Indeed, in full screen, with "Stretch to display" disabled, PPSSPP will crop the picture instead of displaying black bars, as I said in a previous post Smile

You can request for a feature in this thread.
