RE: Runtime error on Final Fantasy IX
PPSSPP is a PSP emulator, not a PS1 emulator. It doesn't support PS1 games.
Use ePSXE, Xebra, PSXfin, or some other PS1 emulator. 4GHz AMD 3900X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 6GB Nvidia RTX 2060, Asus Crosshair 7 Hero (Wifi), Linux How to ask useful questions: https://web.archive.org/web/20110214010944/http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 I'm not Dark_Alex, nor do I claim to be. RE: Runtime error on Final Fantasy IX
It's not a port, though. It's an emulated version. They never ported FF9 to anything else; it was a PS1 only game. Any PSP, PS3, PS Vita/whatever other versions you might see are all emulated. That's not to say in the future though they couldn't do an actual port to a new system(see FFX HD, that's a port, from what I understand, since it seems to have an updated graphics engine and updated sound).

RE: Runtime error on Final Fantasy IX
Does this mean that all FF games which were downloadable via PSN will not work using PPSSPP?
Testing PPSSPP on: iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4 iPad 4, iOS 7.0.4 ASUS Notebook Windows 8 64-Bit 8GB RAM, Intel Core i7 processor @ 2,3 GHz nVidia Geforce GT 635M 2GB |

RE: Runtime error on Final Fantasy IX
The ones that were PS1 games, yeah. Dissidia, FF Tactics: War of the Lions(ported from PS1), Dissidia 012, Crisis Core, etc. are actual PSP games, of course, so they're fine.

RE: Runtime error on Final Fantasy IX
Basically any game labeled as a PSOne Classic will not run as it is not an actual PSP game.
It would seem my reply was a bit late. |

RE: Runtime error on Final Fantasy IX
Right, you both nailed it. I forgot what they were called for a sec. If you try to run PSOne Classics(in EBOOT.PBP format anyway, it's trickier to detect actual PS1 ISOs) on PPSSPP you'll receive an error:
