Setting up server on Linux

Hey there,

I'm trying to set the ad-hoc server on my vserver but i cant compile it...
i installed sqlite3 and gcc
and when i use make it outputs


root@vhost8:/Marde/Minecraft/Adhoc/AdhocServer# make
gcc -o AdhocSever main.o user.o status.o -lsqlite3 -fpack-struct -I.
main.o: file not recognized: File format not recognized
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [AdhocSever] Error 1

could anyone pls help me setting up this thing
