Good news! With 9.9.1-936 the workaround hack to fix the graphics glitch has been implemented :) Make sure the Depth Range Hack under hack setting is checked

I don't know if anyone else has the same situation as me (game running unbearably slow without multithreaded.......yet the game constantly crashing when it's enabled. So basically screwed either way.)...

This game does not play nicely with multithreaded enabled; it crashes PPSSPP every few minutes. This is the first time I've had this issue with any game thus far.
