0.9.7! - Henrik - 02-14-2014 03:02 PM

* Several scheduling and audio fixes, fixing black screens in Yu Gi Oh games among other things.
* Screen rotation and immersive mode support on Android
* Large improvements to the software renderer (still not really playable, but looks right more
often than not)
* New VPL allocator and bugfixes, fixing Pangya Golf performance problems.
* Some mpeg/video playback fixes, fixing Parappa The Rapper and others. Some issues remain.
* Fix save state bugs causing incompatibility between 32 and 64-bit platforms.
* Symbol map/debugger improvements
* Depth buffer copy, fixing Jeanne D'arc. May cause minor slowdowns though, this will be worked
around in the future.
* MsgDialog fixes. Saving fixed in numerous games.
* Initial multitouch support on Windows 8 for on-screen controls.

Enjoy! Thanks to all the contributors.

Note: PPSSPP uses the Visual Studio 2013 runtimes now on Windows builds, so be sure to install them!

Congrats on a new release. I've noticed it's more focused on bug fixes, which are always welcome. Compatibility and accuracy should always be top priority.

Just wondering if the "To Do" list on the development page could be updated. There are some repeating requests which aren't listed there, like online multiplayer, and some things which can greatly increase performance on mobile platforms which should be prioritized but (as far as I know) aren't being actively developed - OpenGLES 3.0 and NEON/VFPU are shining examples for that.

RE: 0.9.7! - Henrik - 02-14-2014 04:00 PM

Those (OpenGL ES 3 and NEON/VFPU) are very difficult and will require two very large blocks of time, I'll do them when I feel I can take a week or so straight to work on PPSSPP... They should remain.

It does need some cleanup though.

RE: 0.9.7! - Doc4000 - 02-15-2014 01:02 AM

I wonder if someone could help me with an issue I'm having with this latest release but which DLLs do I download and install? My laptop is Windows 7 64-bit, thanks in adavance.

RE: 0.9.7! - LunaMoo - 02-15-2014 01:24 AM

@Doc4000 You have them linked in first post of this thread as well as in the download section of ppsspp site. And which runtimes version exactly you need depend on the ppsspp version you're running, but on 64 bit windows 7 I would recommend installing both x64 and x86 since even if you use 64 bit version of ppsspp, sooner or later you might run 32 bit app which will need it as well and it's just few mb's anyway.
