No, its illegal. It is piracy when you download someones other ROM.

Dude, if your psp doesn't read disks, dump the umd files into ISOs.

Yep, just dump the UMD using your psp- oh wait.

@op
nope, it's still illegal.

If your PSP can't read UMDs anymore, I think the best solution is to ask a friend to lend you his PSP in order to dump your games with it Smile
I hope you have a friend who owns a PSP though Undecided

Or repair your PSP given that the UMD drive is broken ?

RE: question - Obi55 - 01-10-2014 10:08 PM

How is dumping your own UMD illegal?
@naonan

RE: question - hpg98 - 01-10-2014 11:14 PM

Well thanks guys but isn't it only illegal if you make money of the game? And if it is illegal why would there be Web sites filled with downloadable roms and none have been removed?

RE: question - mr.chya - 01-10-2014 11:52 PM

Whether it is illegal or not is up to the country you live in. I believe that in the USA it is illegal to download any copyrighted materials from any source not officially licensed and allowed to provide it by the copyright holders regardless of whether or not you pay for it. As to why so many sites provide such things anyway it is because the servers hosting them and the downloads are located in countries that do little to nothing to actually enforce copyright laws. Now with all that said I think it would be a good Idea for you to take a look at the forum rules as they specifically have rules against piracy and post's asking about/containing links to such things.

Here is a link to the rules: http://forums.ppsspp.org/announcements.php?aid=5

RE: question - Obi55 - 01-10-2014 11:52 PM

Well, no, its illegal anyhow. ROM and ISO sharing itself is illegal in any way shape or form. And even if you don't make money, the company loses anyway cause someone could've bought the game instead. And the sites... well, they have no conscience.

There's a LOT of sites filled with enormous amount of illegal things that has not been removed, that doesn't make them legal.

There is one thing important here on the forum : the rules.

This thread is going nowhere, so I close it.
