Suggestion: Game Shortcuts from Home Screen - lionheart620 - 11-04-2013 12:10 AM

Hey, I just downloaded PPSSPP today and so far it's awesome. I have a suggestion I think would be very simple to create, and would be very useful. Allow shortcuts to a game to be placed on the home screen, or desktop, or whatever Android calls it. Essentially I want an icon that opens PPSSPP and passing the location of the game I want to play, so it will automatically play. It would be nice if the icon was copied to the home screen too. That way, it feels like the game is just like any other Android game, and I can arrange it as such on my home screen.
If anyone else thinks this will be useful, chime in!
Thanks

I kinda, already suggested that too at that.

This would be cool, it's just a bunch of work building a bridge between the emulator (C++) and a bunch of complicated Android Java code to create the icon from the game image and so on.

So, pull requests accepted Smile I'm not gonna prioritize this for a while.

Hi, I've got question. Still related to this feature. I try to send game path to pppsspp android, to directly run it.
I see I can modify app-android.cpp, add parameter to NativeApp_init method, modified 1-2 lines like

Code:
const char *argv[3] = {app_name.c_str(), game_iso_path.c_str(), 0};
NativeInit(2, argv, user_data_path.c_str(), externalDir.c_str(), installID.c_str());

Am I doing it correctly, or, are there better settings/methods to run game directly ?

Sorry I'm new at this, still learning on git. Perhaps I'll add pull request later.
