why media engine is deleted from ppsspp after 0.8 it waqs helpful in running many other emultors like gpsp and others why it is not in new ppsspp

RE: media engine - stodag - 10-30-2013 02:02 PM

I think it caused a few problems.. so devs thought better to fix games that needed it.. ie Soul calibur needed it, and its been fixed with so many others.. but not all.

RE: media engine - [email protected] - 10-30-2013 02:05 PM

but it makes gpsp and also i think it made gow un better so it will not retun in future

RE: media engine - stodag - 10-30-2013 02:08 PM

Force 60 fps helps GOW.
As for if it will return, not sure?? I'll let the devs answer that.

I remember that when the developers have decided to remove media engine they said that it will never return...
For example, daxtsu said it in this post...

RE: media engine - globe94 - 10-30-2013 02:23 PM

so maybe daxtsu has "other ways" to fix in exhange of removing the media engine option? ( my opinion based on his post) Smile

RE: media engine - [email protected] - 10-30-2013 02:27 PM

so did daxtsu found other ways

RE: media engine - TheDax - 10-30-2013 02:44 PM

It was removed because it caused issues in multiple games when disabled, and game compatibility should be better now than before. If you wanted it back for better performance, have you looked at the performance guide? There are many better options for increasing performance than bringing back a hack that cripples compatibility.

As far as "finding better ways" goes, I personally didn't code the MediaEngine stuff. I was simply stating the position we had on the hack at the time. It's not coming back.

RE: media engine - [email protected] - 10-30-2013 02:52 PM

so if i may ask and i am asking politely what will you do to make gpsp work in ppsspp just asking and if it is not in your plan perfect and if it is your plan what will you do about that

RE: media engine - TheDax - 10-30-2013 03:09 PM

I'm personally not going to touch it, but that's not to say someone else might not look at it in the future. That said, I would guess most platforms that PPSSPP can run on also have a GBA emulator of some sort(VBA, Retroarch, etc.), so getting gPSP to work would probably be pretty low priority.

RE: media engine - globe94 - 10-30-2013 03:18 PM

yeah.. i second that..
PPSSPP is already a Multi platform app, then u want it also to become a Multi-purpose emulator? maybe that is too much?
use other specific emu for specific roms if u want to play them Smile

no problem that's fine, and congratulations on 1 year of ppsspp and please focus on blackscreen games pls
