Rendering backend - Squall - 09-13-2013 01:07 AM I see that the DirectX 9 backend is in development. And according to this page, there are plans for DirectX 11 and OpenGL 3. I would like to know what are the advantages of these backends on the Windows version. RE: Rendering backend - VIRGIN KLM - 09-13-2013 01:36 AM It's OpenGL ES 3 not OpenGL 3 btw and it's the new API on mobile devices (and only) supported since Android 4.3 but still only a few devices support it. DX9 and DX11 will just bring support to the devices that have no/limmited/buggy OpenGL 2.0 support and just that.
