Windows/WINE: PPSSPP now requires the VS 2013 runtimes as of v0.9.6-804-g9c41246
Hi guys ,hope this is the right place to post this problem
I tried 9.6.813 and comes up with error screen 'missing msvp120.dll file" and wont execute and unable to get it to run at all - i checked the previous version i have 9.6.779 - works no worries and i have the lastest drivers installed - any suggestions? - or is it the build not working for xp.

Mod edit/summary: PPSSPP for Windows now requires the Visual Studio 2013 runtimes for newer builds, so if you receive missing DLL errors, download the runtimes and install them. If you're using WINE, extract the installer and put the msvcp120.dll file in the same folder as PPSSPP's exe in your WINE prefix folder. More details about WINE issues relating to this can be found here.

RE: problem 9.6.813 xp (missing dll file
Looking at buildbot comments it does retain xp compatibility so don't worry. Just install this ~ pick x86 for your os. The project was updated to new Visual Studio and it needs those dll's properly installed, that's all.

No... XP users are still able to use the emulator to play but they no longer able to compile the emulator now since Visual Studio 2013 required Window 7 SP1 at minimum to work.

I had meant to make an announcement about the switch before I left, but I ended up being unable to, but yes, as of v0.9.6-802-gd0fcf3b, PPSSPP requires the Visual Studio 2013 runtimes.

Moved to General and stickied for now. We'll remove the sticky in a week or two.

Slight correction mate, it's v0.9.6-804-g9c41246.

Henrik needs to update the main download page as well, when 0.9.7 is released or before that.

I also had the same problem on my Windows 7 (x86) PC.
I thought I had solved it by installing MSVS 2013 express, BUT no didn't work.

So today I downloaded latest Dolphin emulator, and would you believe it, the very file I needed was included in that download, so copy & pasted it into PPSSPP folder, and Bingo.........IT WORKED, annoying or what? Big Grin

RE: PPSSPP is not working!!!
Are you on Windows 64bits? Are you using the 64 bits version of PPSSPP?

Maybe you didn't install the VC 2013 runtime, download here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/...x?id=40784
