Tongue RE: Windows 8.1: Black Screen when opening PPSSPP, NVidia GPU

Finally got around to uploading a video. (Been battling the flu for a week.) If you guys have any more questions or things I need to show, I will respond when I can.

Thanks for the video, that is such an odd problem. Seems like something is eating window messages ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/...s.85).aspx ) or waiting unnecessarily on one, haven't really seen anything quite like this before.

Do you have some weird background software installed like antivirus, framebuffer video recorders or similar?

Did you configured nvidia optimus (or what is that thing called on dualgpu systems?) so that ppsspp will use your nvidia gpu? (since you have a laptop with i5 if i read that correctly, it should have an intel gpu too) Also do you use standard (that came with windows) graphics driver, or from nvidia? And if you know that a windows update messed it up, then remove that update..

PC Specs:
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E6700 3.2 Ghz
4gb ddr3 ram
Geforce GTS 450 1 GB DDR3
Windows 7 x64

RE: Windows 8.1: Black Screen when opening PPSSPP, NVidia GPU
Nezarn you're a genius and I love you! In the update, they changed something with the drivers, from optimus to "the Geforce Experience." So I dug around in there and forced my video card to open ppsspp with my nvidia card instead of it's internal graphics. I still don't understand why I can't play in a minimized window, but that's just being nit picky. I can play my games in full screen perfectly again! Thanks for your help and time guys.

Should anyone come across the same problem and can't figure out how to fix it, make a post here and I'll upload another video to show how I got it to work.

Cheers mates and happy gaming.
