RE: Rate your ISP
I live in a shitty country called Philippines. It's the country of corruption where money CAN BUY ANYTHING. Services are shitty so it's natural that the internet, which is by the way, at this day and age, is still a luxury, is also shitty.

1. Ping for Google.com is double digit and ping for Facebook is 200-300ms which is shit
2. Advertised speed 1MB. I only get 870Kbps which is again... shit
3. Up speed is 600Kbps... I think
4. I'M VERRRRY SATISFIED --,--
5. 1,399P or 32.42$. Yes, believe it or not it's really 32.42$

Oh and if you're going to tell me to just switch to another ISP. All ISPs have the same prices so there will be no competition. Yeah, mysterious, riiiiight ?

RE: Rate your ISP
My internet is 10Mb, but I get 3.5Mb in normal days. In weekend I get 5.5Mb (it's best in sunday), my ping is about 250 ms. But is my region, some think here (my State, Rondônia, below the Amazônas on map) is the end of world, then they doesn't care. While some States use optical fiber cable for telephone line, my State continues with old cables.

RE: Rate your ISP
You know I totally agree with you, our country itself is naturally abundant in natural resources and other sources of income, the only problem is those fools in the congress and other politicians around the country who only think of nothing but themselves, their only purpose is to fill their pockets which came from the people's hard paid taxes instead of serving the public while other people are suffering from hunger, disease and calamity. Not to mention barangay (town) elections are coming up in a few weeks, I bet vote buying and election killings will become rampant again.

If only the people's taxes are put to good use no one will become hungry, all citizens will have stable jobs and all out of school youths can have an opportunity to go to school.

And corruption is also one of the main reasons why people have no discipline, law is not properly implemented everywhere you go. It just pisses me off!

Alright, fair enough. It's just that I really hate injustice and it's everywhere in this country of ours. And I can't believe those people can stomach what they're doing. They're like devils in a man's clothing. Anyways, enough with the state of our country talk. We're sidetracking the topic.

Summarization : Philippine ISPs = Overpriced S.H.I.T

Since facebook website use a lot of "javascript", its not suprised if the ping reach up to 300ms. btw that 1MB speed is juz an assumption and not really the real calculation of your internet speed your ISP given when you first bought it.

you mean in your country, all local ISP provider place the same price?

btw my main ISP is a modem broadband WiFi. It's a WLAN. when I have quota, it can reach up to 4.2 Mbps. When i run out of quota, it reduced it speed to 64kbps. But you can buy a top up quota to restore the speed. Currently it been down due to the debt i've made. So i currently use my mobile phone as a temporary replacement until i settle the debt i make to resume function (my parents pay for it btw T.T).

Here's my ISP speed for my mobile phone internet. I pay about RM30 (US$9.01) for 1GB quota for 1 month for this mobile internet.

For my main ISP Wifi, my parents pay it for RM68 (US$20.42) for 8GB Quota per month

But there are some package that cost RM158 (US$47.45) for 48GB per month. That one is for heavy internet user.

P.S: I will update on the rate of my main ISP WiFi as soon as Im able to restore the connection soon.

I think you mean 1Mb, 8Mb and 48Mb, because "Gb" is so much faster, only big companies use that. Tongue
And as I said in your shot, it looks 2mb, because you got 1.7mb.

I think you misunderstood completely my friend.
Those "Gb" are quota, not internet speed Tongue

Quota are kinda like a kind of allowance that an ISP provided to maintain a fixed internet speed (its 4.2Mbps in this case). Once you run out of those quota, your internet speed has been reduced (which is 64kbps). That mean you will have a slow internet access.

Only mobile company will provide such service. The one that use cable internet don't have this kind of service.

RE: Rate your ISP
Oh, my bad. Now I understand. Paying R$9,90 (about 5 dollars) in my country, I receiver only 200Mb of quota, and the speed is 1mbps, after that, the speed reduce to 32kbps, but I know a way to get more than it modifying the APN, I get more or less 300kbps. There's a new way that the users can get 4mbps, but I didn't tested yet. I don't know if it's ilegal, but it's still working and the company should know this surelly.

You might envy what you see on the test result page, but I am telling you, everything good about my country stops there.
A good internet connection is not enough to convince anyone to live in Romania. Well... I can imagine some people desperate enough to move here for that, but that would make a small number of people.
