RE: d-pad problems
Seems okay for my own wired 360 controller with the latest revision from the buildbot (0.9.1-720)

Have you tried remapping the dpad manually again? What revision are you using? Has any revision worked for your particular 360 controller in the past?

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

RE: d-pad problems
Control mapping and a great many other things are explained in this great guide http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=5352

You'll have to scroll down a bit to get to the part about it, though I would recommend reading all of it.

Go into control mapping screen and change the dpad assignments there:-

If mapped correctly should should see the exact screenshot for Up, Down,Left, and Right.
