PS3 or laptop?

PS3 or laptop?
I want to buy one of these: PS3 or laptop. In PS3 I can play any game, without worry with hardware. In laptop, I have more possibilities, for example, play old games, use emulators, access the internet, and make somethings else. I would like this or a similar laptop: http://www.pontofrio.com.br/Informatica/...77574.html

What is your opinion? Smile

Phones: Poco F3 8GB/256GB (Snapdragon 870 5G) and Redmi Note 6 Pro 4/64GB (Snapdragon 636)

PC: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / 16GB RAM DDR4 3600MHz / NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 6GB / Windows 10 Pro

Depends on what you have right now too! Tongue
Also PS3s are way too overpriced on Brazil, not worth it.

RE: PS3 or laptop?
I would not go with that machine, due to the limited Intel HD 4000 graphics card.
Try & get a Laptop rather than a Notebook, with a independent graphics card in there, preferably Nvidia, due to there rapid driver updates & they seem to work far better than the ATI/AMD cards. (As noted on these forums).
The processor was great a i5 is extremely powerful, and a great choice.

But in the end is up to you, how much you are willing to spend, save up for the best machine you can possibly afford, that way it will last far longer.

RE: PS3 or laptop?
Really the PS3 is overpriced compared to USA, while in USA is U$D250,00, here is R$700,00 (160gb version), but I don't have chose. But it will reduce since this year. I saw the smartphones prices a bit more down than normal.

An gamer laptop is more than R$2.500,00, then I prefer buy the PS3, or this laptop (from the link) to play most simple games. Gamers desktop is better in performance and price.

don't expect to play games using dolphin.. it needs more horse power ahah even when I switch to my 650m dedicated gpu T_T

Yeah, I saw an Core i3 with HD Graphics 3000 running God of War 2 at full speed. And I saw this GPU running NFS Mos Wanted 2012, NFS The Run, GTA IV, (these games a bit slow) and others games.

intel 4000 runs ppsspp totaly fine.

If he meant running GoW 2 at lowest possible resolution and 'a bit slow' means 1 FPS, that is.

1 screenshot per second, I mean

RE: PS3 or laptop?
Sorry, I mean that I saw the HD 4000 running GTA IV, NFS MW 2012 and The Runs slow in Low Graphics. The GTA and NFS The Run was more fast than NFS MW 2012.

RE: PS3 or laptop?
Have in mind that Laptops having both discrete GPUs and dedicated GPUs don't work on GTA IV. It's a bug that never got patched by either Rockstar or NVidia or AMD. I have exactly the same issue. So if you plan playing GTA IV on a PC that has HD 4000 and any other dedicated GPU the game will only recognise HD 4000 and will be really slow. It's a terrible port for PC.

Oh really, was there not a third party patch ever released by the community to get it running on PC's?

AFAIK GTA IV nor EFLC never get any community/unofficial patches or whatnots.

Nope, never got in any way patched, it's a bug/limitation of the source code, there's just nothing you can do without having access to it.
