Compatibility: Shows "Checking Memory Stick™" text and then hangs on a black screen forever, if using JIT. If using interpreter, it runs with major graphical glitches, and poor speed(duh).

The same error happens all the time in Peace Walker(full), iirc, so that's not really essential to this demo running, I don't think.

Seems to boot past the memory stick screen with interpreter

With Interpreter it realy works!
Tutorial and the first part of the first Level (didn't test it further yet)
Loading screen often freezes but just press start to move on.

Edited first post. I still wouldn't call it "playable" since it requires interpreter and has some major graphics glitches.

Here's why the JIT doesn't work for this demo, if you want the gory technical details.

Hate to bump this thread, but I find it odd that full MGS PW works, but not the demo. I wanted to try it to check the differences since I played the demo ages ago and liked it.

Thanks to the workaround mentioned in issue #3365, I made a CW Cheat for every Peace Walker DEMO version to skip the hash compare and avoid the hang or black screen using the JIT. The DEMO still has graphical glitches and for some reason it runs noticeably slower than the full game, but with JIT enabled it can now be played Smile

"Hang/Crash FIX", as the name says, makes the game boot and run. "Hang/Crash UNFIX" restores the original value and makes the game hang again. Only use one cheat at a time, not both.
