PPSSPP crashes after minimizing.
Hello there :3

This issue must be well known. PPSSPP crashes every time I minimize and maximize it while the game is running. If I put emulation on pause, crash doesn't happen, but I sometimes forget to put emulation on pause and crashing pisses me off. Any way to resolve the problem?

That happened pretty much in every build after 0.9.6

At the moment I'm using 0.9.8-598 32bit build.

Thank you :3

My specs:
Phenom X3 8450 ~2.3GHz
PowerColor HD6850 1GB
4 gigs of DDR2-800 RAM
~400GB HDD
Windows 8.0 x64

RE: PPSSPP crashes after minimizing.
Interesting. I can't reproduce this on the latest revision (v0.9.8-737-gefa2c8e) and I have an ATI card too, so that can't be the issue. I am using Windows 7 x64 SP1 with the Classic Theme (Aero and DWM disabled) however.

Some required information:-

1. Does it happen for every game?

2. When PPSSPP crashes, what does Windows Crash Reporter say is the faulty module? This could be the clue needed to identify the cause.

3. What drivers are you on? You're using a pretty old ATI 4xxx series card, so I assume you're on the AMD Legacy Drivers? (Notice that you're on Windows 8, which could be related.)

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

RE: PPSSPP crashes after minimizing.
It happens for Intel users too. I think Raimoo reported a similar issue a while back.

4GHz AMD 3900X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 6GB Nvidia RTX 2060, Asus Crosshair 7 Hero (Wifi), Linux

I'm not Dark_Alex, nor do I claim to be. Our nicknames are merely coincidence.

Sorry for a delayed response, have been a bit busy lately.
Yes, it happens in every game.
There's a crash log from Windows event journal:
PPSSPPWindows.exe

D:\PPSSPP 0.9.8 32 bit\ppsspp\PPSSPPWindows.exe

Also, the exception code is 0x80000003

No faulty module name is specified in a log.

And it might be related to Windows 8, yes. Though, I have tried different drivers, including so-called performance ones (11.11a/b). At the moment I'm at 13.1, which are latest legacy drivers by lazy asses from AMD.
