@wizard_dx
The crash points to atio6axx.dll have you updated your graphic drivers for your Radeon?

Frankly speaking, you'd be doing yourself a favour if you went back to Windows XP if you're intending on running PPSSPP on that legacy ATI card.

The reasons (partially taken from my AMD thread) are as follows:-

1. AMD/ATI's OGL driver support for legacy X series cards beyond Windows XP is horrible.

2. As a result, OGL performance for your X1950 card (which was a pretty damn good card in its day, I won't deny it) in PPSSPP will be subpar and not as good as you'd expect.

3. Windows XP will give you much better performance with PPSSPP and a lot less trouble with games and compatibility for that card. Less crashes too.

If you do decide to go back to Windows XP, here're the recommended drivers for that card from AMD:-

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/wi...ng=English

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

RE: PPSSPP Has Stopped Working!
@mow666 Your card is faster than mine (X800), so it will run most games at full speed like charm.

Yes, Hardware Transform doesn't work in Windows 7 for my X800, that's why I reverted back to Windows XP.

Thank you so much for answering! I'm sorry it took me this long to get to reply to you.

I am now wondering if you could perhaps suggest me what kind of Video Cards could allow good performance of ppsspp on Windows 7? Any general names of brands would do. I assume they have to be newer ones, the ones that were created already in the times of Win7's existence. Also thank you for that driver, I might just end up finding it useful.

Now, that's a rather easier question to answer.

Any semi modern NVIDIA desktop card built in the past 3 years with a second digit higher than a 5 or a 6 (e.g. the 450/550/650/460/560/660 GT/GTX) will give you excellent performance with PPSSPP.

Avoid AMD/ATI cards if you intend to get the best out of this, or rather any other emulator based upon the OpenGL standard.

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz

RE: PPSSPP Has Stopped Working!
Hi,

I've also encountered the problem of PPSSPP crashing right when I start it. Here are my specs:

I've noticed Thalea and I are both using ATI cards, so maybe we both share the same reasons as to why PPSSPP are not working?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help.

You're using a Radeon 4xxx series card.

Which is great, since I can direct you to these AMD legacy drivers that are perfect for your card:-

http://downloads.guru3d.com/AMD-Catalyst...-2814.html

I've been using these drivers for my own Radeon 4670 card in my laptop and they've never crashed once in PPSSPP. They're the best drivers for our older cards and also incredibly stable.

Also, have a look at this the AMD/ATI thread that contains some rather useful information about the limitations of our cards with PPSSPP.
