Using this theory it would actually be easier to emulate the PS Vita then any other device ATM.

To be more accurate, PSVita uses exactly the same chipset as iPad 4 just with a slightly faster GPU clock, that's all. The only good thing is that it wouldn't need a crazy dynarec on ARM devices and the emulation would be based on minimum stuff which would save alot of computation overhead.

It needs a different JIT (for both).
Vita is really far from being hacked yet and we are atleast 8 mobile CPU generations far from PS2 emulation on mobile devices. So nothing different. People, just digest the fact that with the direction mobile CPUs are taking we are getting everyday a step further from getting the ideal CPU for this kind of emulators you want.

Vita have Playstation Mobile so actually Vita can run android applications. Maybe in future we will get to run PPSSPP for android on VIta ;-) PSP emulator on VIta is buggy and games from PSP don't looks nice Undecided

They are NOT android applications, they are either native PSP or native PSX with a wrapper.
In order to run Android applications they need a linux kernel and PSVita's kernel (kermit) shares nothing in common.

RE: ps2 emulator on android
Guys, you think the PS2 emulation will be possible with ARMv8 processors? Probably the GPUs will be very powerful, and it will supports OpenGL ES 3.0. I think is enough to begin. Smile

read the first posts of this thread, some devs including Henrik said "harder challenge" than psp, and android devices is not strong now to run ps2 , xbox ,etc.

its a fake for android, (atleast for now)

Yeah, very fake. If you try to download that, you will see is not a download link, is just virus.

RE: ps2 emulator on android
From my point of view,I don't think anyone has the guts to develop a fully working ps2 emulator for android(due to time shortages, lack of funds and experience and due to the huge number of discouraging people on the WEB).I can't blame them since the ps2 is designed to carry "SERIOUS PSYCHOTIC DYSLEXIA" which makes it nearly impossible to emulate. But I believe If someone brave and intellectually clever will make a ps2 emulator for android that will be very optimized and coded far more better than pcsx2,than we may actually have playable experiences on our phones(on 2d games and homebrews at least). But that's only my optimistic opinion.Besides,we already have the greatest psp emu on our pockets so what more do we need?

Oh and it's not good to ask developers to work on another emulator if they are still perfecting an already great emulator.

RE: ps2 emulator on android
The only realistic option is to port PCSX2. Redoing all the research they did over the years is just not feasible, the complexity of the system is just insane.

PCSX2, however, is highly tuned for x86, the speed it has relies on several x86 jits. So I believe we're still talking at least a year of work by a coder of my caliber Smile Plus the result will not run at playable speeds on today's phones.

On ARM64 phones from 2015 or 2016 though, we might be talking...
