Let me also share my case.
My system is windows xp 32-bit with AMD HD7730, driver is catalyst 13.4.
It's unlucky that AMD HD 7xxx series is not supported by catalyst 11.11a.
So I have no choice but use the latest one.

For AMD HD 7xxx users, I suggest to keep PPSSPP v0.9.1-1630 or older one in your side.
PPSSPP might randomly crash in a few minutes by error of atioglxx.dll in revision v0.9.1-1631 and later(The latest one I tried is v0.9.1-2103).
Maybe some OpenGL-related change in v0.9.1-1631 hit the weak points of AMD drivers.
Because I've never seen this error in v0.9.1-1630 and older ones.

If I found this post earlier, I would doubtlessly buy Nvidia graphic cards.

Windows XP and the Radeon HD 7730 combo makes my recommendation about drivers abit tricky, since those cards (7xxx especially) are often paired with either Windows 7 or 8/8.1 which are definitely better supported (better drivers) by AMD at this stage.

Have you tried upgrading to the latest 13.9 XP WHQL drivers for your card? (Not recommended for older cards, only for the newest ones)

I had not considered that there would be AMD users with bleeding edge 7xxx series cards still on XP for whatever reason. I suspect the recommended drivers for that series (using XP) would be very different.
If you were using Windows 7, I would definitely advise you to always go for the latest drivers for that card.

What Ritori meant by turn off Catalyst, is to disable Catalyst A.I. which is the cause of a lot of related driver crashes for AMD users, and is still enabled by default even if you haven't installed the Catalyst Control Center.

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1
