To force AA? You shouldn't need a super power PC, no, but when forcing AA, it's logical to expect some degree of performance loss if your PC can't keep up; the more you force, the more performance you lose. Just disable it or turn it down if the performance loss is too great.

Oh, and if your GPU supports FXAA, you can enable/force that to get an AA-like effect even with BR on, though it's not quite as crisp as forcing other AA types.
