v0.8+ Crashing GFX Card
UPDATE-- Fixed as of v0.8-6 I'm not having this issue.

ORIGINAL POST--
Hi there great emu.

As of V0.8+ PPSSPP will load and play any ISO correctly as before but after about 1-2min the emu crashes on my PC and I get a GFX Card crash error.

This doesn't happen in 0.7.6+.

I have tested both 64bit and 32bit versions and same results.

I have i3 processor with ATI/AMD Radeon HD 4670 256mb Card on Win7-64.

Try turning off Catalyst AI in the AMD Catalyst control panel.

RE: v0.8+ Crashing GFX Card
Hi man, yeh I did that test and it still crashes with same error.

Here is a pic of the log once it crashes. (To be clear after the GFX Card crash I get a possible infinite loop error with the emu and then a black screen but functional)

UPDATE --

I can use v0.7.6 -1564 g30efa52 and nothing higher, if I do I get the GFX Card error / Crash.

So something after 1564 has broken compat for me.

As is always the case with these issues, try getting a fresh build of the latest problematic version (0.8+) and start out with a clean .ini file. (If you haven't already done that)

By any 0.7.6+ build, are you including v0.7.6-1576-g30ed511 ? (this is the last one before the version numbers were changed)

What is the last 0.7.6 build that you tested which worked for you (and did not crash after 1-2 minutes)?

You mentioned any game could cause it, but what games have you tested in particular?

EDIT:- As you may have noticed i've the same ATI graphics card (family) as you do (see my specs in signature), and I just did a quick test with 0.8-6 for FFVII Crisis Core.

No crashes after a few minutes.

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

UPDATE --

I can use v0.7.6 -1564 g30efa52 and nothing higher, if I do I get the GFX Card error / Crash.

So something after 1564 has broken compat for me.

Games I have tested that crash (GTA LCS, Spider-Man 2, Daxter, Gran Turismo) all crash the GFX Card on anything higher than 7.6-1564.

I have tried the nightly builds on the site and anything higher than that version do the error with any game I try.

P.s I am always trying the fresh builds straight from the zip files (No old settings)

Out of curiosity and to better diagnose the issue. Can you post screenshots of GPUz and/or CPUz while you're running the emulator?

Here're mine, for example:-

Also, we may have the same gfx cards, but we're definitely using different drivers, I think. What drivers are you on right now?

Mine's using the 11.11a performance drivers.

(Quite ancient, but the ones I've tested after that have performance regressions for my card using benchmarks and games to test. 11.11a performance drivers are the best for this old card.)

That's odd. A vertex shader commit fixed your problem?

Huh.

RE: v0.8+ Crashing GFX Card
Apparently, lol

Possible compile errors on older builds?
