What version of the game are you running? It looks fine on my Nvidia Shield Tablet without any of the black areas. I seem to have different border images than your game though.

RE: Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles US
The black is most likely caused by a speedhack like "disable alpha test".

RE: Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles US
"Disable alpha test" looks better, however, most of the effects are still black (Blood, light etc)

On Asus Zenfone 5, I told this at my previous post.

The game looks fine on my Android device. Blood and lights look correct. May be a bug or issue specific to your PowerVR GPU. I do have all speedhack options disabled though and I'm not using any texture filtering or upscaling.

Richter always dies during fight which is incorrect.
It should be no damage fight.

PPSSPP 1.0 on Windows 7 (64bit)
The same happens to my Android.

RE: Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles US
Hmm, I haven't played much Castlevania. How does boss demo work?

Is it a recording of the way you beat the boss in the past, or just some reference on how to beat the boss (e.g. everyone sees the same thing)? If it's a recording of your previously playthrough, this sounds similar to the Dissidia and racing game problems that are ultimately the same problem: when it plays back the recording, the character does different things.

If it's not a recording, it might still be ultimately the same problem, but that would be interesting, because the other ones I know about are (I think) all involving savedata. If this doesn't involve savedata, at least that means the problem is probably not related to saves.

If it is related to savedata, though, did this savedata come from a real PSP? Or from a previous version of PPSSPP? Do all the boss demos exhibit the same behavior, or just that one / certain bosses?

It'd be really helpful to know, if it's not too hard to check:
1. If you use savedata created entirely on a real PSP, does the demo play correctly in PPSSPP?
2. If you use savedata created entirely on PPSSPP, does the demo play correctly in PPSSPP?
3. If you use savedata created entirely on PPSSPP, does the demo play correctly on a real PSP?

RE: Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles US
- The savedata was created entirely on my own (real) PSP.

- I've checked the demo by choosing "Werewolf" on my PSP and also on PSVITA, both 3 times
here is my conclusion :
Boss Demo mode in this game is 1 time pre-recorded from Konami's dev team. Is not recording from player's save
For example,
Richter takes action : 1 2 3 4
and the boss takes action : 1 2 3 4
Every times when I watch the demo on my both PSP and PSVITA, the characters will do exactly the same things : 1 2 3 4

But in PPSSPP case,
Richter always takes action : 1 2 3 4 the same as real PSP.
but the boss takes random actions : 4 1 3 2
after finished, I watch it again, now the boss takes another random : 2 3 1 4
and so on....

- haven't checked savedata created entirely on PPSSPP yet, it takes me some time to collect moneys (in-game) and beat the Dracula.

Well, that's pretty interesting. Especially that Richter does the right thing, and the boss does not.

I've seen the page says : Fix PowerVR compatibility
but sorry, in the version 1.0.1 it is no difference

Hi there,

When you start the emulator up, look under the graphics tab, scroll down to Performance, make sure Disable slower effects (speedup) is ticked, helps with PowerVR on my tablet.
Also under Hack settings, make sure Disable alpha test (speedup) is ticked, I have heard this helps also in some way.

Hope this helps. Cool

RE: Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles US
Unfortunately, those settings will only increase graphical problems, not decrease them.

Screenshots of the GE debugger (on Windows) when it's highlighting in red the things that are drawn wrong on the PowerVR device might give some insight.

https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/wiki/...E-debugger

If you're using any speedhacks (like the ones above), though, those glitches are probably just how it's going to be. If the speedhacks were just checkboxes that made things faster without any penalty or problem, we'd always have them on and wouldn't let you turn them off. It's an option exactly because it causes really bad graphics in many games.

RE: Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles US
Here they are :
Not sure if these are you were needing,
My Windows runs fine (Geforce 9800 GT) but by above reply was Asus Zenfone 5.

Added : Now loading screen, the distorting flag that shows Now Loading text is black.

Though I have some more screenshots, it seems like the forums limit the number of pictures.

This picture is great:
http://forums.ppsspp.org/attachment.php?aid=13879

But can I see the other tabs? I'm trying to see what it's doing that is rendering incorrectly on your phone. Based on the texture, it looks like it's either alpha blending or alpha testing (since the texture is partially transparent.) One of these is not working, but I can't tell which without seeing the other tabs.
