Brick Error 10037 in PSP2i
I'm trying to connect with a non-local player over the internet in Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity. He's able to join, and it even sends his character data, but once the game begins, he drops out. We've tried switching who's hosting/joining, and playing with ports and other networking settings, but nothing seems to have any effect.

This is what the host's log looks like:

And this is what the join log looks like:

thanks for the link, i think it was a bit helpful, but were still having the same problem, only the log is spamming 10035 instead.

bottom is the host's log.

That is strange, i remembered hiding error 10035 from the Error log on newer version.

Please try the test build in my signature, if it have similar issue or not.

Btw, i hope both of you have DMZ or port forwarding being set for this game properly, because it seems you don't have UPnP router and trying to play over the internet.

i dont suppose theres a way to not use port forwarding? its not really something i can set up where i live.

regardless, i will try your build (when dropbox stops being dead) and see what changes.

RE: Error 10037 in PSP2i
To play over the internet you need UPNP enabled on router yeah.
The other way is to use a VPN like hamachi there is a ZeroTier tutorial in my thread for that.

alright i got UPnP enabled (comcast is awful, never use their routers) and im using the build in your signature. we successfully connected!

we can run around the hub world, but when we start a mission, the joining player just kinda sits in the loading screen eternally. the log file doesn't pop up any errors so i have no idea whats going on. we can even visit each others' custom-decorated rooms, so its obvious that data is being transmitted, but for some reason they cant join in missions.

I update the test builds on my signature again today to fix Bleach Heat the Soul 7, give it a try to see if it also affects PSP2i or not.

If it still not working properly, try enabling Forced First Connect in networking settings to see if it makes any difference.

Edit: oops it seems my last update breaks Gundam vs Gundam Next Plus, i'll update it again later.

Edit2: Okay, it's updated now, give it a try.

Actually this newest version was back to the original problem of the joining player dropping, until we turned on Forced First Connect, which brought us back to "can join but cant bring people on missions".

sorry for not responding, work has gotten in the way.

firstly, to speed things up, you can use this test file with hacked characters i created (theyre listed at the bottom).

from the main menu, select "Continue", and then select a character, then select "Multi-Mode" (internet multi doesnt work as it requires psn). then select "Form Party" (新規パーティーの結成) or "Join Party" (パーティーに参加) and have the other player do the opposite. the joining player will see the available hosts listed, and select one to join (参加する). if all goes well, you will connect and spawn in the hub world. the host should immediately load regardless of outstanding issues. if there are no issues, the joining player will also load very quickly. any delay on the joining player's side (such as being stuck watching the two characters walking) is a sign of the first issue.

the 2nd issue occurs when starting a mission. in the hub world, there is a teleporter in the center which will take you to your "ship". the ship will have a holographic pedestal in the center, that is where you start missions. "Open Missions" (フリーミッション) are the standard free missions, so i suggest picking one of those. "Tactical Missions" (エクストラミッション) usually have special rules or a story segment to them, but are also an option. upon selecting a mission, a prompt will show giving you the option to start (first option) or abandon the mission. only the host can start a mission, but each player will need to access the terminal to join the mission. the host player will have no problems starting and joining a mission, and you can leave the mission area and return to the hub world with the mission still active, and can re-enter any time. the joining player however will get stuck in the loading screen when trying to start the mission, and cannot back out.

i was never able to get localhost to work, but i havent really sat down and tried; i want to play with friends over an internet connection. also not sure about core psp2. ideally, there would be no effective difference in this matter, but there can be no guarantees with these things. (also very hopeful its not the english patch, thatll be a headache for the translation team)

and i have not, ill try to get to it tomorrow. thanks for your help so far though, ive been looking forward to playing with friends on this and i hope we get it worked out.
