PPSSPP Ad-hoc general info thread

The compatibility list says Lord of Arcana ad-hoc is working, can someone tell me how they got it to work? I can get 2 players to join a lobby but it's extremely desynced and trying to start a quest crashes the emulator. Using PPSSPP v1.10.3

You are using the stable PPSSPP?
That won:t work well as the latest dev builds that i linked.
Also it got a bug when you try to play with more then 3 players.
So get the builds from orphis for now.
PPSSPP 1.11 should be out anytime so I will update the thread accordingly when it happens.

Yeah I was using the stable build. Is there a specific orphis build I should be using? I tried the latest one and was still having the same desyncing/crash problem. Maybe it's my network settings causing the problem?

Don't know I guess its something AdamN need to look into maybe.
Maybe it worked on a certain dev build and then broke.
Or maybe your friend did not have the dev build too? both need it.
Meanwhile maybe try to play with another VPN like Hamachi or Radmin VPN or play with UPNP and sushicat.
BTW you can show your networking settings and i see if there is something wrong.

I did a brief check on Lord of Arcana, apparently it have AdhocMatching issue where a pile of Matching Events didn't get processed and eventually getting Out of Memory (PSP's UserMemory) which causes memory access violation while trying to copy the memory.

I wanted to change how AdhocMatching works a few months ago because it's different with how it works with prx files on JPCSP (ie. data which supposed to be sent immediately within HLE ended being sent through EventThread which i suspects leading to timing issue, inefficient memory allocation, matchingEvent & matchingInput threads should be running as fake PSP thread instead of real thread, etc.)

Anyway, i won't be able to finished testing AdhocMatching on a homebrew anytime soon, since currently i'm having lung issue so i spent most of the time resting (i findout about my health issue during a medical test for a job employment recently, which causes me failed to get that job)

I'll try to make a simple fix to prevent it from crashing or piling up matching events if possible, not sure whether it's going to breaks any other games tho.

There is still an issue of stuck at Loading, but there is workaround for it, and i haven't tested this PR on many games, so not sure if it's going to breaks any other games or not.

I'll put the test builds later on my signature (i'll replace the word "adhocfix" to "testbuild" in the link)

I'm using the Europe version with SaveData from GameSpot (female character)
When i Continued the data, the bottom part of the character is invisible like this on D3D11 O.o

I kinda lost motivation to continue the list so I wont retest games after every build.
But the list (the 2nd one) points out which game worked and at which version it last worked at.
Sadly some games were tested on an old test build that I dont have access to anymore.
