Texture pack for Patapon 3 using AI upscaled textures.
Compatible with EUR (UCES01421), USA (UCUS98751), JAPAN (NPJG00122), ASIA (UCAS40318) and DxD Mod (INFN00001) versions.

There are still textures to be dumped/upscaled.

Phenomenal my dude! By the way, I have 2 things to ask of you:
1) Could you upload the texture pack to somewhere else like Github, Zippyshare, GoFile, etc.? Google Drive just added this really crappy file download quota enforcement so your download link is already outdated and unusable until Google Drive decides to open it back up. Alternatively, you could upload the original files and the texture pack as two separate downloads in the same folder and share the link to the folder because you can bypass the download limit by downloading an entire folder. Even if both files have reached their download limit, it will still zip them and download them.
2) Could you tell me what order you used the models in and whether or not you chained them? I'm still trying to figure out using multiple models so it would help a lot. Additionally, I was wondering if you have had any transparency issues and if so, how did you handle them?

When I update the pack (I want to use the new 1x_NoiseToner_Poisson_150000_G model which offers better results than 1x_NoiseToner_110000_G model) I will upload the pack also to other sites (uptobox, GoFile for example).

The order of the models is the position in the post, first use 4x_FatalPixels_340000_G_4x_Fatality_01_265000_G_interp_05 (50% interpolation of the 4x_FatalPixels_340000_G and 4x_Fatality_01_265000_G models), then use the 1x_Fatality_DeBlur_270000_G model and finally the 1x_NoiseToner_110000_G model.
Regarding the transparency I tried different models and the one that gave me the best results was the interpolation mentioned above, since with other models in the transparency artifacts were produced.

It should be noted that not all models can be interpolated. If a model has been created from a different parent model then they cannot be interpolated as it happens for example with the model 4x_DigitalFrames_2.1

Thanks for the explanations. Also, have you considered using Fatality MKII in the interpolation? It might perform better than Fatality.

Have a quick question. Running PPSSPP 1.11.3. Using the US version UCUS98751, the game loads, initial screens work. Just at the end of the first cutscene, just before the Patapon 3 start screen, the cutscene slows down, freezes and then the emulator crashes. Tested again using Spanish as the language, the game works perfectly.

Is there possibly a setting I may be missing or something additional that needs to be done with the texture files.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for the great work,

The texture pack works in any language and in any region, the only thing you have to do is to rename the folder to the region id - EUR (UCES01421), USA (UCUS98751), JAPAN (NPJG00122), ASIA (UCAS40318) and DxD Mod (INFN00001)

I did that initially when I first transferred the texture folder into PPSSPP. Oddly enough, it ran the first time in English without a problem. I have even tried the Europe version with the same results. So, I don't know if something changed in PPSSPP or whether the texture pack might be corrupted.

I believe I have the answer. Apparently, using Vulcan as the backend creates the problem for English. Changing the backend to OpenGL allows everything to run perfectly.

Sorry to have bothered you. The texture pack is just fantastic!

I have a question. I play Patapon 3 on Adrenaline, in the ps vita, but the standard resolution seems worse in the bigger screen, and the gepatch makes some bugs, like the fever icon or the description and status. Is it posible to modify the original iso from psp but with this new textures? I mean, is it posible to replace the original textures from the iso with this new ones? I have been looking for information, but i didnt find anything. Thanks for your time, and sorry for bother.

While replacing textures inside the ISO is doable, it's complicated to do it with upscaling. This is because upscaled images take a lot more space.

Even an old PC these days often has over 1024 MB of video memory. The PSP only has 2 MB.

When PPSSPP does texture replacement, the replaced textures aren't in the PSP's tiny memory. Instead, they are on your phone, laptop, desktop, etc. in its memory. So they can be very large and it's fine. Already, sometimes people have issues with heavy texture packs on weaker devices because the texture pack uses up all of their video memory - even when they have hundreds of times as much as the PSP.

The Vita only had 128 MB of VRAM and 512 MB of RAM - much less than most phones have. There's no easy way to access it from a PSP game either, so it'd be a lot of work and still might not be enough space.

So unfortunately - the answer is that it's pretty hard to get PPSSPP texture replacements on the Vita.
