Slow gameplay on high-end phone, setting changes don't help
Just got my brand new Pixel 4 XL a few days ago (after my 3 XL died last month :/) and started setting up PPSSPP on it for all my favorite PSP games. Loading up Shaun White Snowboarding though, I realized I'm getting only about 30-50% speed and 14-28/60 frames on the game. I tried disabling any intensive options, turning down the details, and changing to 1x PSP/Display res (from 2x) but nothing is improving my speed or FPS. It seems like there's some hard limit forcing my phone to go slower than it can handle. Does anybody have a potential solution I can try out?

RE: Slow gameplay on high-end phone, setting changes don't help
Shaun White is a bit of an unusually demanding game for some reason. It uses spline patches to draw the ground so the setting "Hardware Tesselation" can help maybe?

Most other games should run full speed easily on your phone.

RE: Slow gameplay on high-end phone, setting changes don't help
Hardware Tesselation didn't work. Something about this game really f**ked up. It seems this game really hates being emulated on ppsspp. Heck, even GoW wasn't this problematic. I can run GoW at 1x and no speed up hacks smoothly on my device but somehow this Shaun White Snowboarding game lags as hell no matter what. I am not OP, by the way. Just another person who is facing the same problem.

Yeah, this is REALLY weird. Everything else I've played is running at an easy 60fps, even with upscaling. I'll have to try SWS on other platforms; fortunately, I have a copy for WII/PC, so wish me luck Big Grin
