Buttons won't "hold" in specific games

Buttons won't "hold" in specific games
I'm using Logitech F310 wired controller and I noticed the same problem in two games regarding "hold the button" commands.

1) NBA Ballers - It's impossible to shoot. When you try to hold the button in order to fill the shooting line, game will react as if you had just tapped the button and let go.

2) Rock Band: Unplugged - It's impossible to play the long notes. The same thing, when you try to hold the button in order to play a full long note, game will react as if you had just tapped the button and let go.

Other games don't suffer those problems, for example, PES 2014 will perfectly recognize the time you hold buttons while shooting or high-passing, so it's not a problem with hardware.

Is there a fix? Thanks in advance.

Do you have the controller set to Xinput or Dinput? Does this happen in both input modes?
Also, which PPSSPP version are you using?
And what's your OS/platform?

Hi!

I've tried it both ways, Xinput and Direct - no change.
I'm using the actual version, 1.7.4.
Windows 10.

RE: Buttons won't "hold" in specific games
You could try keyboard or touch controls to make sure it's not your hardware, but google for RBU reveals timing issues multiplying input even on real psp(which might have incorrect timing by things like plugins or over/under clocking) PPSSPP also allows over/under clocking, so if you used that - disable it completely, it might not help through since PPSSPP by default does NOT have accurate timings and some badly coded games(mostly japanese) will suffer from weird issues.

Sometimes reducing or increasing the clocks(really not safe;p) or using some compat hacks like draw sync eat cycles(definitely safer, but I'm biased here) can help, but if not, it would need a proper investigation from someone who owns the game and can create some kind of hack, either ppsspp side or just a CWcheat workaround.

RE: Buttons won't "hold" in specific games
I feel obliged to post here, user xSinistaRx solved my problem on the other thread. By using the 1.6.3 version instead of 1.7.4, everything seems to work perfect on both games. Thanks.

Well, that's not solving the problem - that means we still have a bug in 1.7.4 that needs fixing.

Any chance you could test some intermediate versions between 1.6.3 and the latest (download from https://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/index.php?m=fulllist ) to narrow it down a little?

RE: Buttons won't "hold" in specific games
Hi there,

Just to let you know I got the same problem in iOS PPSSPP version 1.6.3. I'm using iPega 9087 controller, although button mapping works, but they wont 'hold', just like 'tap' all the time in ANY games.

Thanks.
