Witch android mobile should I buy?
Yo guys! My Xperia ZL has broken! Now I need a new phone, but the problem is I’m short of money… really short – economic crisis in Brazil is getting worse than you can imagine.

I loved my Xperia ZL, but I’t was horrible for emulating gamecube (Dolphin). Can you help me indicating a good phone, with low price, that can emulate Dolphin all right? Don't need to be full speed!

Thank you!! Wink

I was an Xperia Play gamer until my dog ate my beloved phone!

Now I’m an Xperia ZL/ZQ gamer!
Quad-Core 1.5 GHZ
2GB RAM

It works better, but i miss the gamepad!! T_T'

RE: Witch android mobile should I buy?
Sorry, but you won't find a cheap phone for Dolphin (here in Brazil, at least). You'll need a 64bits processor with high clock (high single-core performance, it's essential for emulation), so don't look for higher core quantity, a nice GPU also would be fine, but avoid Adreno, it has poor OpenGL drivers. The popular phones today are based on old Cortex A7 with two quad-cores processors, the Cortex A7-based CPU's haven't a great single-core performance, but still decent for most apps. Also avoid Mediatek, they are too weak, even for PPSSPP.

Phones: Poco F3 8GB/256GB (Snapdragon 870 5G) and Redmi Note 6 Pro 4/64GB (Snapdragon 636)

PC: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / 16GB RAM DDR4 3600MHz / NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 6GB / Windows 10 Pro

And what about Quantum GO or Moto G? Are they good!? Again, don’t need to be full speed, just better than Xperia (it’s GPU is Adreno, so you can imagine how bad it runs Dolphin).

About Quantum Go and Moto G, what about PPSSPP’s performance? Do you know?

Quantum Go is exactly what you should avoid, it has a Mediatek processor, it has a bad performance even on PPSSPP. Moto G has a Adreno 306, your Xperia had Adreno 320, was better. But the Moto G's CPU looks more powerful, it's a Snapdragon 410 Cortex A-53 64-bit, the CPU is what matter on emulation, it do almost the whole job.

Today is too hard to find a phone which don't use Snapdragon/Adreno, this chip is dominating the market because of price, I guess you have no choice.

RE: Witch android mobile should I buy?
Thanks for helping dude! But it looks like they saved my phone - thank God!

It was a software problem, not a hardware problem. Don’t know what they did exactly, but looks like reinstalling android fixed it! Going to take it back right now! But thanks again!

E mais uma vez, valeu! Esse papo ajudou a entender melhor as coisas caso precise trocar meu aparelho no futuro! o/

RE: Witch android mobile should I buy?
You're right, this one is faster, MTK6752 is based on Cortex A53 64-bit, has a high clock (1.7Ghz), but MT6592M (Quantum Go) is based on old Cortex A7 and with low clock (1.3Ghz). The clock is 30% slower, the old architecture makes it even slower.

If you tell us about your budget, it would be much better to suggest something to your budget.

If you don't need one right at this very moment, I'd wait and see a little bit which phones get good Vulkan drivers and get one...
