Easily remedied by doing the following and playing your own cool ambient beach tracks in the background using your preferred media player. (on Windows or Android if possible):-

The voices and sound effects are perfect, it's pretty much only the music that's messed up.

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

For some reason, sceInitMp3 gets called constantly and takes around 300-1000ms to run on Android, even with volume set to 0. :/
It gets progressively slower and eventually crashes the whole emulator.

With that build I sent the problem goes away, and the bottleneck becomes "DL Processing Time" (around 35ms).
What does "DL Processing" mean? Display List? If that's the case, then that probably means I just need a better video card in my phone. -_-

Not on Windows though.

On Windows sceGeListEnqueue is the one that gets called the most, at around 4-5 ms, with a very minor impact.

DL Processing Time on Windows (for my rig in sig) is also much lower, at about 3-4ms. And yes, DL = Display List.

Seems like MP3 processing is absolutely broken for Android devices at the moment which would explain those statistics. It should not take 300+ms for that syscall. Something is not right.

In windows, there's a huge UNIMPL Mp3 error spam if you have the Log Console open though, which definitely has something to do with it, and could be related to the mp3 troubles in Android.

You don't need a special ppsspp.ini file for the pc to play this game.

Just tick "I/O on Thread (experimental)" in the System Settings Menu in the UI and the game should start up right away.

Other settings can be set to default.

Or if you insist, the only portion of the ini file that needs to be changed is this:-

Code:
[CPU]
Jit = True
FastMemory = True
CPUSpeed = 0
SeparateCPUThread = False
SeparateIOThread = True

I tried but my game only in Loading

RE: Dead or Alive Paradise
Update: Using ULES01431 with PPSSPP v0.9.1-467-g08d5190 on Windows 7 (x86) version, Game worked fine for me, played Volleyball & lost. Blush
The Music sounded distorted, so turned that off.
Only glitches in the graphics are the incorrect shadows that flow from the heads of the girls as seen in photo's 2 & 3.

Are you using the latest 0.9.1 dev builds? The official 0.9.1 version doesn't support this game fully.

Get the latest dev builds here:-

Anybody mind telling me in what header easy_guard is defined? I've been looking all over the place.
Looks like the DL Processing bottleneck on android isn't the video card and I'm determined to find out what is.

RE: Dead or Alive Paradise
Can someone help me out with a link to a build that runs this? Currently I am only getting to the main menu then it goes to Now Loading and hangs. I tried a couple of builds from the link solarmystic put but they are not running at all for me. Thank you very much

Like I've mentioned before, any latest 0.9.1 dev build from the buildbot should run it (the latest one (v0.9.1-596-g94d1df0) is a good bet), provided you've ticked the I/O on Thread option in the System Settings like below:-

[Image: attachment.php?aid=8132]

If you don't tick the option before starting the game, the game will ALWAYS hang at the Now Loading screen forever.

A good way of knowing you've got it right is to look at the background of the title screen, you should see the beach rendered properly:-

[Image: attachment.php?aid=8133]

You didn't mention whether you tried it on Windows or Android. Android users may have issues with this game because of the mp3 implementation leading to crappy performance as stated by another member in the thread.
