[SOLVED] VideoCoreIV Sound Problem
Even with a 1.2Ghz Quadcore BCM chipset android phone, PPSSPP's sound stutter like playing at 25% speed in every game even at 100% speed using frameskip, which never happened in my old dual-core PowerVR phone at 3 frameskip.

Things that can affect the sound output are already unchecked like "Atomic Audio locks" and Audio Latency, I even tried Multithreading off.

Maybe it was the Attact3 Codec Compatibility with BCM23550 Chipset. I hope the Developer's can do something about the sounds.

The emulator is Doing a Good job even in Low-end devices.

RE: VideoCoreIV Sound Problem
With the latest version, it still sounds like [Tapping the speaker continously: Sound-BrokenSound-Sound-.....] but the sound seems in sync with the frames.
My device Info (4cores)

Other Games/Media and even other emulators doesn't have this problem.

My setting is configured optimized fir speed (no hack settings ofc)
Default settings, same result.

Thank you.

RE: VideoCoreIV Sound Problem
Oh - 8192 samples long frames! That's absolutely ridiculous. Nexus 4 has 240 samples long buffers. Terrible hardware or drivers Sad

I might be able to work around it though, although you will get really bad audio latency no matter what (delay from action to sound)...

RE: VideoCoreIV Sound Problem
Thank you for the reply.
In terms of Audio, it sounds ridiculus.

But in Graphics, it can cope with up to 2x Rendering Resolution depending on the Game.

Bad Sound Driver I guess.
But almost all applications' sounds are fine though.

My device is rooted, maybe there's another way to fix this.

RE: VideoCoreIV Sound Problem
Thanks Celestine, but I'm on Android.

I would like to add: If I'm in the Game Selection Screen UI, the sound preview of Games are fine, they are just broken during Gameplay.
And the sounds isn't delay at all, it sounds like it's "cut-down in half".

RE: VideoCoreIV Sound Problem
To anybody else reading: don't bother with Celestine's reply, that's probably a clever spambot. Note the tiny link (which links to a shady site) and the fact that the exact same post can be seen posted on a bunch of other forums too. Just report and move along, people -- nothing to see there.

(I know, I'm going off-topic here, just don't want anybody to click into those links and download something bad thinking it might be a fix)

EDIT: Post this was referring to has since been removed. Tongue

RE: VideoCoreIV Sound Problem
Try Version v0.9.9.1-1619-g2792602 from the buildbot.

I recently tried it with my extra Broadcom Device with old stuttering audio problem.
But now it's fine.

RE: VideoCoreIV Sound Problem
Great, thanks for the reports guys. I added some more options to even turn off the resampler, and reduced the threshold for when to use the "fast path" from 1024 to 512 samples. Should help audio compatibility even more.

RE: [SOLVED] VideoCoreIV Sound Problem
Thank you very much for improving the audio before v1.0
By the way, what is that Cardboard option in graphics settings?
