no sound in version 9.9
Greetings and salutations I just updated from version 9.8 and everything worked fine with version 9.8 but now everything works fine aside from no sound. I tried other games and programs and they're sound is unaffected. what gives? anyone having similar issues? anyone able to pass along some suggestions on what I could try to remedy the situation? If so I would be extremely greatful. Please and thank you for your time and help. Undecided

RE: no sound in version 9.9
Can you help us out with a little more info? What platform/OS are you using PPSSPP on? Have you double checked that sound is enabled in the Sound tab, and that both volumes are set to 8? If you're on Windows, have you double checked that PPSSPP isn't muted in the volume mixer?

Windows 8, HP laptop. Sound is enabled. Bgm is 8, SFX is 7. Ppspp isn't an option in volume mixer but device applications are all 3 active and unmuted

RE: no sound in version 9.9
PPSSPP usually won't show up in the mixer until a game is started (was one started when you checked the mixer?). Failing that, can you name some games in PPSSPP that you tried, that used to have sound, and no longer do?

OT, but that's not quite true anymore.

Starting from v0.9.8-1350-gb2ae317, the emulator should show up in the mixer immediately on bootup thanks to this commit.

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

RE: no sound in version 9.9
Hm, forgot about that feature. In any case, this is a pretty weird issue. None of the sound code (not counting emulation-related sound code, I mean just the general DirectSound stuff) has changed since at least 0.9.6, so I'm starting to run out of ideas.

RE: no sound in version 9.9
I've tried the following games. Mega man powered up, metal slug anthologies, GTA vice city stories, marvel ultimate alliance 2 mega man maverick hunter x all of which play fine but have no sound. I just have no idea what I should try to do to remedy the situation

Do you think uninstall and reinstall would be pointless or might that fix it?

never mind I fixed it XD XD XD XD XD XD
