Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions

This is a pretty big thread so I'll just ask about fixing my black screen issue. I'm sure it's been covered previously but it's kind of hard to look through the whole thing.

I'm running v9.9 on my Inspiron 1525 windows 7 32-bit. Been playing Dissidia 012 for a while on it without too much difficulty and decided to boot up WoL to see how it looked. When it gets to the opening menu the screen simply goes black. I press the X button and I hear stuff happening but can't see anything.

I assume there's an easy/not so easy fix for this, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had the problem thus far.

I also wanted to get this going because I wanted to attempt using the patch that's been made to fix the lag issues present in the games animations. I don't know if it's possible on the emulator, but I was hoping to figure out how to do it.

If anyone has any information I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks.
