PPSSPP 0.9.8 doesn't work on my PC
Hello, I'm new hereWink! I have a problem with PPSSPP on my computerUndecided. Actually I'm using 0.9.6 because the 0.9.7 (and now even 0.9.8) version doesn't work: it happens that when I try to load a game, the application crashes, but with 0.9.6 it works brilliantly, why it does thatHuh?

I have installed the new VC 2013 runtime, so I think there's nothing wrongConfused...

Can someone please help me to solve this problemHuh?

Thank youSmile!

RE: PPSSPP 0.9.7 doesn't work on my PC
It's been a while.

I've been having the same problem with last svns. Earlier versions work just fine but the newer keep saying something like this: msvcp120.dll (or something) does not have the instruction _except1. This is not the exact message, I don't remember it quite well right now.

If someone can explain this, please do. I have the Windows version, btw, but it should be obvious?

RE: PPSSPP 0.9.7 doesn't work on my PC
No, it doesn't show anything, it only crashes when I try to load a game.

I REPEAT: this doesn't happen with the 0.9.6 version, which runs perfectly every game.

PS: if you want, I can post my system requirements...

RE: PPSSPP 0.9.7 doesn't work on my PC
@LuiGigi48

Yes, please post your system information for us.

Find it by opening PPSSPP, going to Settings --> System --> Developer Tools --> System Information.

Thanks.

EDIT:- I suspect you're using an AMD/ATI graphics card, and are on outdated drivers or problematic driver settings, but I'll need to see your system information screen to confirm my suspicions.

The issue may not be present in stock 0.9.6 because 0.9.7 introduced several newer features that requires the usage of OpenGL 3.x functions, and if your drivers aren't up to date, crashes may occur when running games in PPSSPP.

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

These are my system requirements:

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 x86
CPU: Genuine Intel CPU T2300 @ 1.66 GHz
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon X1300
2GB RAM
OpenGL 2.0.6479 Release
GLSL 1.10

So, is there any way to solve my problem? If yes, how?

Hmm.. a cursory check at AMD's driver site indicates that there's no way to update your drivers from their site, since AMD only supports cards from the Mobility HD 2xxx series onwards with their own standard drivers.

Try checking your laptop's manufacturer website for gfx driver updates.

It's really strange though, the card doesn't support GL 3.x so it shouldn't have any issues from the 0.9.6 to 0.9.7 transition.

There isn't any gfx driver updates in the laptop's websiteConfused.

So, is this a problem of my PC or a problem of the emulatorHuh?

PS: the game I want to play is Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi Tag Team, see if the game starts with your 0.9.7 versionUndecided...
