Hi! New to the forums, just passing by and saw this thread. So I recently tried this game using PPSSPP 0.81 x64, but when I started up, there were only text portraits and the backgrounds were missing. What settings does the game need to show the graphics properly? The game is compatible, but I'm really baffled as to why this is happening? Maybe the game got corrupted during the dump process...?

Edit: Got in-game, once Claude reaches the underdeveloped planet, it shows the anime cut scene, then crashes.
Other games I've tested (Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy I/II, and I'm very impressed at how well it runs) work fine, but I've had bad luck with Star Ocean

Okay, I got the game to show up, but it crashes as soon as Claude lands on the underdeveloped planet, after the anime cut scene. It just crashes. Any help on that, or is the game playable on the latest beta/SVN release? Huh

RE: Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Some textures going black for a brief moment when a dialog box appears.Room textures doesn't fill the screen until a message box appears.Intro movie is playing in a small box, turn on raw framebuffer to watch it full
Some delayed messages on dialogs or when picking up an object info
Playing for 2 hours,no problems so far

Yep, I see that graphic issue as well, might have to due with hardware buffering, not entirely sure, just a wild guess. But the fact the game is playable (regardless of the glitches) is a nice improvement. Very impressed at the PPSSPP team Big Grin

Now for Star Ocean, that still has issue with hardware buffering on/off, but that should be working soon I'd guess.

RE: Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Yesterday I cleared the game, but without going to Maze of Tribulations.

Issues that I found, not counting issues already cited in this topic:

* The CG for opening the front door of Hoffman Ruins would crash the emulator when played. I turned on "Display raw framebuffer" before the CG starts to play and after some seconds, when the CG stops playing, I turned it off to continue playing the game.
* Sometimes PPSSPP crashed when I tried to save game. This ocurred mainly in Nede, in World Map.

RE: Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Does it crash consistently when saving in any place? Do you have any saves nearby either of those two?

No. In Nede, sometimes I tried to save in World Map and doesn't crashed.

Not anymore... I'm already in Maze of Tribulations and used only one save slot. But the CG in Hoffman Ruins crashes consistently the emulator. The CG plays only once, then I can't reproduce the crash anymore.

CG (Opening the Gate) at Hoffman Ruins PROBLEM
It's Really Constantly Crashing the Emulator n suddenly Out
Any1 has a Solution for this?

Personal Experience : SO 2 Problems are :
~Sudden Crash
~Some Black Screen,
~Floating when ur got hit mid Air,and can't go down after that (My Personal Solution : Use other member to attack/Finish the Battle)
~Ambush Enemies are Slowly going down
