Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

I'm having a problem with this game on my Google Pixel XL, It crashes at the gender selection option every time. If i use the speed-up key, it goes one dialogue prompt further before crashing. Is there any fix for this?
EDIT: If this helps i have a log from alogcat from the time of the crash also running android 8.0:
