Final Fantasy IV : The complete collection

Hi! The game is crashing for me on PC when I try to leave the town Troia in Iyazoi's section of Edge's Tale in the After Years. It just fades to black like when you normally leave an area and then closes to desktop without any error message. I played through all of the original game, Interlude, and several of the other After Years tales without any issues. I've tried updating the core and it's still happening.

Any thoughts? Could this be an issue with the rom? It feel like it has to be Retroarch/the core or I'd get some kind of rom corruption message from Retroarch, but I don't really know.
