I have tried connect two PCs with that cable, while pinging both clients worked, however I can't connect to other players on PPSSPP. I'm playing FFT:WotL, and everything seems normal - except for the two errors, which point to Socket Error.

You don't need a modified client to make that work. The normal PPSSPP version can deal with that just fine. If you have 2 clients, say one has 192.168.2.20 and the other 192.168.2.30 then you enable the pro-adhoc server in one of them, let's say on 192.168.2.20 and make sure that you actually tell both 192.168.2.20 and 192.168.2.30 to connect to 192.168.2.20 (the PC that has proAdhocServer running).
