RE: Current state of Snapdragon-based CPUs in PPSSPP
A lot of people have reported this problem... me too.
What I will say is compatibility is key and speed will come after, maybe wait for 1.0.

RE: Current state of Snapdragon-based CPUs in PPSSPP
my guess is that snapdragon cores (scorpion - krait) are not designed by ARM and thus use a slightly different arm architecture that lacks optimization specifically for emulators, I can be wrong of course,
but after reading these:
http://www.openssl.org/~appro/Snapdragon-S4.html
https://sites.google.com/site/dosboxturbo/performance
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ARM_cores
that is my conclusion

P.S.: No offense meant for snapdragon owners, I myself considered this SoC quite powerful

Samsung Captivate, Android 2.3.5 SAUROM, Corn Kernel v701
Fly Evo Chic 3, Android 4.4.2 Stock, improved stock kernel

There is no offense, is the truth.

My house-mate has note 2 and runs ppsspp too much better than my galaxy S4. Kingdom hearts in note 2 runs przctically PERFECT. Without rendeer. And in my S4 doesnt runs even at 60%.

Something happens... I hope with opengl 3.0 optimitation this improves.

RE: Current state of Snapdragon-based CPUs in PPSSPP
note 2 specs = galaxy s3 specs, to think that galaxy s4 (snapdragon version) is weaker than s3 in emulation,
so much optimization is required

RE: Current state of Snapdragon-based CPUs in PPSSPP
I think its something related to geometry.

Let me explain.

Def Jam = solid 60fps fullspeed, with 1x render, multi core enabled
Ridge Racer 2 = the same
Half Minute Hero = the same
Soul Calibur = The same, even when the camera pans in the arena....as soon as 1 character enter the camera (like when they introduce themselves) the framerate collpases to almost single digits.

So if that helps debuggin the problem, i think its something related to geometry, or a particular feature related to it.

RE: Current state of Snapdragon-based CPUs in PPSSPP
There are so many cheap and powerful snapdragon (used) devices (quad-core, adreno 320) in my country, and yet, cause of this mis-optimization there's no point in buying any of them, what a pity Sad

Hopefully this can be fixed.. although on latest builds iv just got a bit of speed boostSmile
not much to write home about, but its there.

I have faith, in time they will find and fix the problem.. nobody said this would be easy..

Whatever you guys are doing with the latest dev builds, it's given FF7:CC a huge speed boost on my GS4(US). I'm seeing performance improvements from 14 FPS to 30 FPS in some scenes. Amazing!!

I don't see any fps difference, it get actually little slower.
Keep up the good work guys though.
