RE: Valkyria Chronicles II
Hi everybody,

I just installed the latest android build I found (v0.9.9.1-1054-g9d97eb5) and tried to play this amazing game.
However, my game freezes at the second mission (on the drill ground after the "writing test" to get in the academy) when I try to capture the first camp. I tried to unchecked all he graphics and system option (including fast memory), but it didn't change anything.

Any idea on some options I might need to check ? Should I try an older build ?

My phone is a samsung Galaxy SII running with android 4.1.2.

Thanks for your help !
[Edit] I uninstall this version and tried the regular v0.9.9.1 (I am guessing not the beta one) and it is working good for me. Great job on the emulator !

RE: Valkyria Chronicles II
It'd be really helpful if you could try a few builds in between (e.g. v0.9.9.1-500-gsomething or so) and see when it stopped working. If you try 4 builds it would already narrow it down a lot.

RE: Valkyria Chronicles II
If you want, just give me links to a few builds you would like me to test and I would be happy to. This emulator is really great and if I can help a little to improve it, I would be happy to !

RE: Valkyria Chronicles II
They're all here:
http://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/index.php?m=fulllist

The most optimal way is to go by halves. So if you know v0.9.9.1 works (basically v0.9.9.1-0), and v0.9.9.1-1054-g9d97eb5 doesn't, there are 1054 versions to test. That sounds like a lot, but it can be narrowed down to a couple in about 10 tries.

The first one you would try should be v0.9.9.1-533-g2aed007. With one attempt, you'll cut the possible culprits down by about 500.

The next one to try depends on whether that one works or doesn't work.

If it doesn't work, the problem must be between 0 and 533. So the next one to try is half way between, v0.9.9.1-266-g76d5f67.

If it does work, the problem must be between 533 and 1054. So then try v0.9.9.1-796-g2f1d3df.

After 4 tries, you would narrow it down to a range of about 60-70 commits that could have caused the problem. 6 total tries would take it down to 15-20. Probably you won't be able to do more than 8 tries. The closer you get it and the more you narrow it down, the faster the problem can most likely be fixed.

RE: Valkyria Chronicles II
Hiya. I recently played VC-1 on its release on Steam. Smashing game I say. Laid interest in the 2nd and 3rd one. Got them both, patched the 3rd. Game runs great apart from minor skips and stutters (of course) However I do have an annoying graphics glitch where hair, trees, bushes appear to have a border around them. Like 2D trees will have a square green border around it.

I run it on:
10x PSP
V-SYNC ON
MIPMAP OFF
Hardware transform ON
Upscale 5x - Hybrid and Bicubic
Deposterrize ON
Anisotropic 16X and flitering AUTO

OS is

Win 7 64bit
8GB RAM
i7 2600k
Asus 780.

If it cant be helped no biggie but it is alittle distracting!!

Also 1st post! Love Pc Gaming and emulation. This is why PC's are better Wink

RE: Valkyria Chronicles II
Unfortunately, it may be that texture upscaling is causing that.

RE: Valkyria Chronicles II
Not sure if anyone is still having an issue with black textures and what not, So I tried every combination of settings i can think of to fix it and found one so i thought i should share.

frameskiping: 3, auto frameskip
rendering solution: 5x
texture upscaling level: auto, upscale type:hybrid+ bicubic, depositize ON
texture filtering: nearest, screen scaling: nearest
Disable alpha test (speedup): ON
Hope i helped.- im on a mac btw.

Valkyria Chronicles II EU DLC?
Hey guys,

I created a path x:/PPSSPP/memstick/PSP/GAME/game_id and put there all the DLCs for the Valkyria Chronicles II (EU) but it doesn't show up in-game. There're 22 packs in overall; each one contains 2 files (for example: DL1A.edat and DL1A_DATA.edat; the first one is always 1kb, while the second varies from ~160-680kb).

The DLC is the same region as the game.

Any help would be much appreciated.

RE: Valkyria Chronicles II
Pretty sure the DLC just goes in PSP/GAME/. They should already be in separate folders that start with the game id. Just put it the same way it is on your actual PSP.

RE: Valkyria Chronicles II
Hey there, I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge with the free PPSSPP v1.0.1.

The game runs fine up to the first battle screen's command mode. After I select a friendly soldier and switch to action mode, there is a black screen. I can see the ui with the minimap and move my character using the analog and d-pad and try to shoot the enemy, but I cannnot see anything.
