MH Freedom Sync Issues?
Has anyone else experienced an issue where you see your friend, he sees you, but neither of you can see the monsters the other is attacking or carving up? I don't recall having this issue years ago, but then again we were playing MH3PHD so I'm not sure if this is a MHF issue or a networking issue.

We have a working tunnel/VPN we can connect to each other when one of us posts a quest. In the game we see each other, can see the moves our characters are making, but it looks like we are fighting nothing and when we go to carve up a kill, the other person sees your character carving thin air.

Is there any settings other than Fast Memory that need to be disabled, or enabled for better multiplay?

Also, as a side note. Shouldn't we be able to play MH without a VPN if I open the proper ports on my hardware firewall? I have opened all the required ports for both the PSP and the 4 or 5 ports for the MH games. I opened up both UDP and TCP for each port, yet that method does not work. I wish it did as I rather use that method than VPN.

Thanks in advance for any info.

PS: Here are the ports I have open when attempting the direct connect without VPN.
PSP: 27312, MHF 10000 and 20001 through 20004 UDP & TCP.

the official PPSSPP doesn't have much update related to networking, not sure what happened since last year tho

have you tried playing multiplayer using my test builds from this post? http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?...#pid136154

it should have better networking code and also support UPnP so you don't need to port forward manually, if your router support UPnP of course

Regarding public direct access without VPN (ie. using sushicat adhoc server) it should works as long all players opened required ports and accessible through the internet, not only the host that need to open the ports but all players need to, with UPnP the ports used by the game will be opened automatically and closed again when exiting ppsspp.
Players who are behind NAT (ie. using mobile data like 3G/4G connection) usually not allowed to have port forwarding by their ISP, thus won't be able to play without VPN

RE: MH Freedom Sync Issues?
Do not worry! This is normal, @Draugr!

As a still active PSP Monster Hunter Freedom Unite / Portable 3rd player, I can confirm that small (non-boss) monsters do not synchronize in multiplayer. I assume this was done because of the PSP's limitations. Large boss monsters will synchronize, though.

It is not an issue with the emulator or anything. It's normal to be fighting/carving separate small monsters to your friends in multiplayer. Interestingly, you can hit at small monsters that are invisible to you, but visible to your friends, and they will be dealt damage. So you can help your friends out, but you will be unaffected.
