I was playing though MGS Peace Walker, and I've hit a stump at a button mashing bit. Is there a way I can slow the game down to help with this? I figured there is a way to do it though alternative speed but I can't find anything on it.

Set the alternative speed to 50%, and then assign a button / key / something to Speed Toggle. Then press said button to toggle between regular speed and alternative.

How do I change the alternative speed, I'm on 1.4 and I can't find anything on setting it to 50%.

On the graphics setting page under framerate control the 4th option is Alternate speed (in %, 0 = unlimited)

Change that to 50

then go to the control settings and set a key for the speed toggle.
